Do season-ticket holders have to do anything or we just stay behind afterwards?

Yeah just stay behind as far as I'm aware. There's a gap of about 45 minutes. More bar service and stuff but I would guess this is just a fanciful idea and it will be as farcical as usual.

Why would you chose a band that’s split and claiming to be the rightful UB40……. like our club on the pitch a fcuking mess
So many bands to chose from but we get the stick with shit on both ends depending on who you think are the rightful names to the group

The biggest challenge Wagner has is not building a massive stadium, or building a premiership quality team
It’s shifting a culture of a fan base that wallows in self pity and negativity

I think you have to look at the options if using a local band.
How many bands from Birmingham are bigger historically and still performing? How many are know presently that would stir any interest?
The split is the only issue. If you google Brums biggest bands how many would you suggest?
You have to remember they'd have to be what is regarded as mainstream to match up to more of the average fans.
Black Sabbath and Judas Priest aint exactly going to be the majority of peoples cup of tea.
I'm surprised they couldn't have talked to the band but I think the split is way beyond reversible from what I here.

The biggest challenge Wagner has is not building a massive stadium, or building a premiership quality team It’s shifting a culture of a fan base that wallows in self pity and negativity In around 50 years there's not exactly been reason for positivity and optimism and the last 10 years has been like the longest slowest car crash ever. So maybe you'd need to sell some of what you're on if you think fans are wrongfully wallowing!. I would say the easiest challenge is building the ground. I have heard planning permission was verbally consented ages ago. They have the cash to build a stadium so you couldn't be further from the truth. Anyone can build a stadium but only 20 teams can be in the EPL. Even now if every club in EPL spends £1bn this summer 3 teams are still facing oblivion! Derby spunked loads trying to bankroll promotion and ended up in League One, Reading owner apparently wasted £250m trying to do likewise and ends up in League One. You can't build a premier quality team without premier league football. As said you can build anything you like that's the very very easy part. For me this story is all great and maybe a great future is to be had but you have to do the job on the pitch.

Duran Duran might have gone down better.
Given the U.S. connections and undoubted ambition, more than a little surprising that Taylor Swift is not headlining.
Self-pity and negativity might be difficult to undo. It is a badge of honour for a certain generation, ingrained in the DNA of much of the tired and weary fanbase. Conversely, the more arrogant and self-delusional types historically tended to associate with that lot across the expressway.

Ali left. The band was never Ali on his own. Yes, Alli was iconic, let me tell you for a fact, now that, even if Ali was in the band, you would be very disappointed, his voice is totally shot. Ali has never released a decent song outside of the band. Meanwhile, the remaining members of UB40 have actually released some decent music post Ali. They are doing this for ‘free’ too. Regarding Duran Duran. They are quite an arrogant band, not a chance they would perform on our current stadium, and for free.

They may have a couple from Birmingham but the boss isn't and Simon Le Bon is not a fan of the area.
Also they are prepping for their tour across america.
I still think any gig should have been a season opener when weather is better and fans more chilled about losing a game.

I couldn't stand Duran Duran. A cockney and a couple of DVB's who only girls seemed to like.
No thanks!

Duran Duran was totally tongue-in-cheek guys 😂
But Taylor Swift maybe wasn’t a bad call. Pay her a million for one gig and imagine the worldwide impact and publicity…..better value than paying wages to the likes of Burke and Hogan. Maybe she could highlight in the opening ceremony with laser show for the new 40,000 capacity Knighthead Park stadium?
I think the Moody Blues or ELO are a bit old hat nowadays 😉 Ozzy, definitely….
I saw UB40 at the Hole-in-the-Wall in ‘79. Or maybe early ‘80. Anyway, before King/Food for thought was released. Supporting the Stranglers or the Pretenders (one of those two, definitely). Yeah, pretty decent. But I was more of a Steel Pulse guy.

Or perhaps they are more realistic and using this as a test event to see how to do this sort of thing.
Given the challenges around the infrastructure of the stadium, the traffic links (or lack of them), as well as the difficulties with the PA system and catering- perhaps using this as a concept idea to see how it works is no bad idea

Not sure what sort of gig UB40 are planning but I think some on here don't seem to realise that if Ozzy, Sabbath, Judas Priest or even Duran Duran were to do a gig at St Andrews, logistically they would need the whole day to setup the gig. Me thinks this UB40 gig is going to be very low key

The Moody's would have been excellent a few years ago, but Justin Hayward and John Lodge are the only two left and touring separately now. In fact, I think Justin is in the UK now, but he's a Swindon lad anyway. John was a Blues fan years ago.
UB40 have a connection to the club and are an ideal choice, even without Ali. Be nice if Jasper could be the compare.

His wife said he'll be playing his final show at Vile Park. There ya gew! scum. Her reason for that is simple. It has the largest capacity, and he will fill it, and therefore make the most money. She ain't daft.

I reckon new stadium opener we could look to a superstar act perhaps even look at a weekend festival style opening to draw in the attention. Maybe if Taylor bangs Brady we will be laughing If we do have a retractable roof it makes us the number one venue in England for gigs as nobody else offers this apart from going to Cardiff, so instead of Madonna, The Stones or Rhianna going there they can come to us. Yeah they can do Wembley but that's restricted to the warmer months. We can give them a concert venue of 60k+ and no worry about weather. Taylor Swift will tour from around late 2027 to late 2028 so maybe if we get a move on! My daughter is a big fan, I'd watch her too. Might make tickets easier to get hold of if a Blues fan

A retractable roof music venue would be massive. Wembley is just a ball ache and I avoid it unless it’s work related. Cardiff can’t be arsed as it’s full of pissed up Welsh. I would consider Sheffield and Manchester, and likewise, I’m sure they would consider Birmingham. I know for a fact a lot of Welsh come here for stag & hens. We are not far away from many major cities.

I know a vile fan who actually likes the new song 😂
I’ve been asked a question re this gig. If someone purchase a GMU ticket, will they be able to stay for the gig, and how would they see it if the stage is in front of the GM?
