All I can take from this ATM is we desperately need Left Backs, only 1 natural LB at the club and it's still unknown whether he will get a new contract and tbf hasn't the greatest pedigree for the Championship, an elder statesman who I can't remember the last time he played LB and a youngster who I'm genuinely surprised is still at the club tbh
I haven't actually seen Masampu play, however I'm convinced the main reason he was signed was because we didn't have a recognised leftback for the development squad and it was more to do with filling that hole and stopping others playing out of position, than any hope of Masampu being a diamond in the rough.

oh 100%, only really played at non- league level, still takes up a space in the overall 25 man registered squad, as does Mitch Roberts, neither of which imo are first team standard. I still don't get why Geraldo Bajrami and Joe Redmond were let go instead of Mitch Roberts.

I'd be stunned if we got much of a decent fee for either Cosgrove or Sunjic, a lot of the others with contracts up this Summer will just leave as I see it.
My concern would be with the FFP cloud hanging over the Club how we'd manage to sign many on permanent deals? Fees & salaries would cripple us for decent players.
Even with new owners their hands will be tied.

Re FFP/P&S accounting transfer fees received for players sold are counted in their entirety in the season the sale is made, even though the fee wll actually be paid to the club over several seasons usually. In contrast transfer fees paid to other clubs are spread over the contract duration for FFP/P&S accounting purposes.
When it comes to add on fees received years after a sale, such as any Jude Bellingham monies due, whilst I'm not 100% certain, I believe the same rules will apply. So if for instance Blues cut of any Jude sale amounts to 15 million, even though we'll only receive that fee over 4, 5 or even 6 years, the whole 15 million will be added to next season's P&S accounting figures as revenue, meaning P&S won't be an issue next season, even if we spent a few million. The seasons following next season are another story, though by then the ridiculous Dong era wages should be gone.

New 'investment' from new owners would likely have to go on infrastructure stuff. Regardless of who owns the club next season the club's wage bill will continue to make spending on players difficult. I expect with a Jude sell on, Hall sale and a few big contracts ending there'll be some room to sign players for money on competitive wages, but new owners won't be able to chuck money at the playing squad and whilst I understand Eustace backing some loan players saying he'd like to sign them I'm not sure he's sending out the right message to the fanbase.
Apparently a couple may not be as expensive as many of us would have thought but it all adds up and whilst technically we could probably spend several million on tranfer fees because those fees will be spread over contract durations for P&S (there is no FFP anymore) accounting purposes, that means the same instalments will be counted in the accounts in the following seasons where we won't be able to bank a Jude sell on. I expect there'll be room to wheel and deal but we've still got to be careful else we'll be storing up problems for the next few seasons after.

Still waiting on the club to announce retained lists for 2nd year scholars and the development/U21's squad.
Though it would come as a surprise I'm sure to a lot of blues fans I've got a feeling that both Josh Andrews and Aden George will be let go, both had big fitness issues and though it may seem cruel that's the nature of the beast sometimes. Also think Simmonds going is virtually certain along with Remi Walker and Mr Boomerang himself Mitch Roberts.
Really hope Tate Campbell, Marcel Oakley and Josh Williams are retained with the latter for me a first team squad member.

Hi, As an avid Football Manager player, I use sortitoutsi.net to update my game. I've looked at the above spreadsheet by Dan Ivery, and would like to know where he gets his info from for released players, especially the likes of K.Brooks, C.Ogor, L.Carsley etc? I have tried via my Virgin media email, to contact Dan to ask him, but Virgin media doesn't recognise the protomail email address. Please excuse me posting on this particular part of the forum Bubba!

That's fine it'll be moved eventually in any case. Tbh I think you'd have been better off asking Dan directly via the pm or messages facility on here which will notify him, he very well may not see your post here at all.
FWIW as regards the players you mention the club published it's official retained/released list here www.bcfc.com/news/all/retained-and-released-list-2023 and though those players aren't specifically mentioned that includes in the retained list so by that rationale they have been released.

Not gonna read much into it tbh, have seen it before (not just blues) where players make the team photo but are gone before the season starts. Really want him signed up as think there's a lot of potential and he can play anywhere down the right and has even played very well on the left in the championship. I mentioned elsewhere as not bothered if we only got a bog standard RB in because for me that just gives Williams a way in and though nothing is guaranteed think he could be one that just blossoms this season. I love the way he drags his team up the pitch and the way he drives infield but upfield at the same time, he's also got an eye for goal and is quick and athletic, I'm a big fan of the type of player he is.

Yeah, Olofinjana was a bit of an open secret and Dixon expected but never heard of Fairnie.
Beresford and Home in signing their deals have become the only players in the U-21s/Development squad to be definitely contracted beyond this season. I think that's because we're going to see more players signed to go into the development squad like the three announced today and maybe even a few for fees. Not itk about this it's just my own personal feeling that it's something we'll look to do and having almost the entire squad potentially out of ccontract next year is actually making me feel more confident in that possibility, like the decks are being set up to be cleared.
PS
To be clear, I'm not suggesting every player out of contract next Summer will get the boot, not at all, but I do think we're setting things up that only those that excel will be kept on with new deals. This is really not that different to other years except I think we will scout better for youth talent and possibly invest better for youth talent and it will be harder than ever for those currently in the U-21 squad to get a new deal.

I completely missed that.
Going back to my post above Leeds I think have just spent several hundred thousand signing a couple of 16 year olds, that's the sort of thing I'm alluding to, spying promising kids elsewhere and paying for them, not just taking other clubs released players but proactively searching out very young players to build up the quality in the U-21 and U-18s squads.

Interesting watching the FLGIG vid with Dan and Mark where Dan is suggestng pretty much exactly what I've posted above as a likely future blueprint for the club. I hadn't discussed it with Dan prior to my posting it a few days before the video came out and as said I wasn't itk about it, just felt it would be a likely new path taken but encouraging he thinks (or knows) that's likely too.

Where pro contracts have been signed the last two digits of contract expiry year will go after players name, for example Joe Walsh contract expiring in 2021 will appear as J.WALSH -21. Any options to extend will appear in brackets. All players are shown either in their most common position or where that position is filled a postion they are able to play. THE ACADEMY1st Year ScholarsAged 16/17 and with another year of academy football after this season.
2nd Year Scholars Aged 17/18 and finish their scholarships at the end of the 23/24 season where they will either be offered professional deals, a third year scholarship or be released.

Just wanted to check on exactly who will be out of contract next summer and blimey I knew it was a few but there is some hole to be filled across first and development squads come next summer. Obviously a few will stay but most won’t I suspect. I thought this was a busy summer but next year at this rate will be a massive rebuilding job. Do enough to get us middle tablet this season and spend a bit next summer and try and aim for the top six. I know there is a few to come in yet but I would expect a few on permanent deals tops from here on this window and 2-3 loans on top of that. I hope we expand the scouting system this season there is going to be a lot of players to find next summer. Get your CV in Bubba.😂

Yep, tidied the squad up and added Anderson and there's 15 of the current first team squad out of contract next Summer and though a few have options there's no guarantee they'll be taken up. Just like the U-21s/Development squad where all bar two are out of contract in a year I don't think it's by accident, they're lining things up to sweep a new broom right through the club, those with contracts ending next Summer in both squads are going to have to excel to get another contract.

Agreed it should, but for different reasons (mostly lack of investment) it hasn't always been the case but I've never seen (or noticed, I can't remember going back more than a decade or so) the whole squad virtually being lined up to make a decision on at the end of the season. Tbf it' a bit of a logistical nightmare normally (which is one reason for staggering contract ending dates) to have so many players out of contract at the same time, but as said I'm fairly sure it's being done on purpose.
When you look at the number of players in the first team out of contract too next Summer, it's setting up to be a transfer window of Barry Fry proportions in terms of numbers.

The Barry Fry comment made me smile. I think there are clearly several players that need to go and next summer it can’t come too soon for them. It will be the most interesting summer in terms of recruitment we probably have ever had. That gets said very year but the sheer numbers alone will be unprecedented. We will have all three of our goalkeepers out of contract and our three recognised strikers all going in Hogan, Jukey and Cosgrove. For this reason alone I was expecting us to sign a striker permanently this summer but as time passes I think this is more likely to be a season long loan. My main concerns with having to replace so many is that bringing in so many players at once might be disruptive, it will be harder to just focus on improving quality in key areas and given our obvious need being played by agents/other clubs for wages and fees. That said, it’s also a great opportunity to start a fresh. I think there probably is some element of intention to this but do wonder if it is a consequence of us being in the third year of the P&S cycle which inhibits our spending this summer compared to what we can do next year and the lack of foresight of the out going regime? I also think it gives the new owners some breathing space to get their own people in place to evaluate the club, players and management at close quarters for a year with a view to seeing what if any changes will be needed to achieve success. In some ways not being able straight off the bat to invest heavily in the squad and make a snap decision on the management team could be seen as a positive. Not having to act in haste and maybe focus on off field stuff that needs addressing beyond doing enough to stay up might be a sensible approach. I recall Tom Wagner in his interview saying that they want to put the infrastructure in place around the team to support success.
