That is the percentage of patients who were seen in A & E within FOUR HOURS of arrival last month. The target is 95%.
If you have voted Tory in any of the last four general elections, then you are directly responsible for this situation.
Oh, and if you voted “Leave” in the referendum, you are responsible for 10,000 EU nationals (5,000 of them nurses) leaving the NHS since June 2016.
I genuinely hope that if you end up in A & E for your own benefit, or with a child or an elderly relative, you will not end up being one of the 20+% who are left sitting, or lying, in a corridor wondering if you’ll seen or if you’ve been forgotten.
If it’s this bad after 10 years of Tory government, wtf will it be like after 15?
Cue the ostriches with their “Oh it’ll all be OK”.

Importing a city load of immigrants every year doesn't help, you know.
Nor can money given to the EU be spent twice. Hopefully, Boris will tell them 'bollocks, I'm going to bung the NHS a few quid instead'.
But on the whole, give it up, man. You've got Boris for the next 5 years. How old will you be then ?
When the time comes, you can join in with the standard 'We have X days left to save the NHS' bollocks then
Also, our EU fate is pretty much out of our hands now. Our opinion will not be sought again. Probably not on anything else either, considering.
Just wait & see. We don't know what's going to happen yet.

Don’t mess about with your eyes Tone. It already costs a fortune to visit an optician. And in five years’ time it will cost the same to visit a GP. #notdowntome

Hopefully. If we get to the stage where GPs only get paid from paying customers, as opposed to customers having to pay them regardless via their taxes, then maybe we won't have to give them 2 weeks notice to be ill, and they will see us on an evening and on weekends.

We're doomed I tells ya, we're doomed!
You do know that many of these extreme waits are non-emergency patients, don't you?
The NHS was just as bad under various, poorly run, Labour governments, but it's all good to scaremonger with tales of wow and doom.
Oh, by the way, I am an ex NHS employee!

The target of 95% does not specify emergency and non-emergency patients. I won’t bore you with the details of an experience I had with my mum a year or so before she died. Suffice to say that she wasn’t at death’s door, but was very uncomfortable, very confused and very unhappy as she lay in A & E for six hours. People don’t have to be dying to need prompt treatment.

And from someone who worked in a hospital for 20 years.....the target of 4 hours before discharge/admission, means corners are cut and people don’t always get the care they need.....just to hit a target.

As the name suggests Accident and Emergency........it would be interesting to know how many of the over waits fell into NEITHER category.

I have been to A&E with my kids and family on average once every couple of years in the last 30 years and I have never waited more than 3 hours.
A&E wait times are the biggest load of flannel that ever gets mentioned to do with governments. The last 3 times I went last year UNDER A TORY GOVERNMENT (not that it makes a blind bit of difference) I was kept waiting 1 hour, 25 minutes and 2 hours respectively. Food poisoning, torn calf and with a twisted ankle.
There are many factors to cater for.
What time of day you go. If you go on a Saturday night you will have piss heads etc What day of the week. Believe it or not A&E have quiet days too What time of the year. When it coincides with school holidays etc What is wrong with you. When you see the triage they will assess you and categorise you on their list. So if you have a tiwsted ankle it can wait, if you have a child with severed finger it won't wait.
It can also be related to shift changes for the staff and if there has been an accident local to the A&E
It's the same if you try to go to the doctors on a Monday morning because people will be unwell over the weekend and think I will leave it because badger clinics are too far.
No amount of bellyachng about a government will make a jot of difference because for me the wait times are not that different to years gone by. It's just something people like labour like to use to make the the opposition look bad because as an opposition government they are supposed to show them in a bad light. They are hardly going to spend the next 5 years saying "actually the tories are doing a good job" lol
In regards to immigration what I will say is statistically people from asia and middle east have a higher propesity to have more kids and A&E is more populated with youngsters than adults so less kids may cut down wait times when we cut down immigration but don't hold your breath because the real reason is when you run a hospital budget you will always run A&E with as little of the budget as you can get away with!

Labour left the door open Why did Labour do leave the door open? Importing voters strategy Just one of reason
