Do we believe it's up only 6%. Well I don't.

I'm not stating everything we're told is a lie, but I'm way past automatically believing anything we're told. Especially if it has anything to do with things like population. There's a lot of new house building going on in formally green fields surrounding Solihull, I can tell you that.

Pubs would be a waste of time, obviously, but I have been wondering if any schools, medical facilities or shops are getting built. These places aren't walking distance to anywhere. So 6% is it. Brought to us by the same people who tell us prices are rising by 7.9%

What I don't get is when folks moan about things like climate change, NHS and schools issues they are fearful of talking about the big elephant in the room that is population increase.

What I don't get is when folks moan about things like climate change, NHS and schools issues they are fearful of talking about the big elephant in the room that is population increase. I'm working my nuts off, lately. I'm tired. I'm also ground down by what's going on. I would have thought my views on these matters are well known, anyway. Or more accurately, well known by those who agree, or don't. I'd say most aren't interested. I'm not going to write pages, basically repeating what I've been saying for years. It's not just population increase. It's the demographics of that population. Whether you think it's a good thing, or a bad thing, the nation has changed, and it's going to change a lot more. I warned about the inflation thing over two years ago. It's not down to Russia. I didn't know there was going to be a Russia thing. Financial reckoning day is coming. To do my Captain Kirk putting it in simple terms, imagine borrowing 3 years salary, taking two years off, and pissing the lot up the wall, then going back to work, and starting to pay it off, whilst at the same time adding more debt (Ukraine), and sending money to charity (the immigrants) Things are going to get bad. Very bad. This and all the other issues in this thread, is by design. To be clear, this isn't just about the Conservatives. It's about all of 'em. They all piss in the same pot, and nothing would be any different no matter who won a meaningless (to us in a practical sense) vote.

I agree that the UK, as I knew it when I was growing up, has changed and I think it's all going in one direction on that downward spiral. Since I started work in 1977 I have been a victim of recessions many times when working in the construction industry. There has always been peaks and troughs. There will be another recession soon. People asking for massive inflation busting pay rises will only end with more inflation and big interest rate increases. Interest rate increases are good news for me but not for everyone. Russia has had an effect on inflation but I agree it's not all down to the war. I've always said all government's are the same, red, blue, yellow, green doesn't make any difference. Whitehall civil servants run the country not government's. This is why I love Brexit because they are all now being exposed as they can no longer blame EU directives for everything. Folks need to give Brexit some time. Nobody ever said it would be an instant fix. It was always going to be a 5 - 10 year period to see the benefits and covid has put that back at least 3 years. But at least the planes didn't fall out of the sky.

They all piss in the same pot, and nothing would be any different no matter who won a meaningless (to us in a practical sense) vote. A. I agree that the UK, as I knew it when I was growing up, has changed and I think it's all going in one direction on that downward spiral. B. Since I started work in 1977 I have been a victim of recessions many times when working in the construction industry. There has always been peaks and troughs. C. There will be another recession soon. D. People asking for massive inflation busting pay rises will only end with more inflation and big interest rate increases. E.Interest rate increases are good news for me but not for everyone. F. Russia has had an effect on inflation but I agree it's not all down to the war. G. I've always said all government's are the same, red, blue, yellow, green doesn't make any difference. Whitehall civil servants run the country not government's. H.This is why I love Brexit because they are all now being exposed as they can no longer blame EU directives for everything. Folks need to give Brexit some time. Nobody ever said it would be an instant fix. It was always going to be a 5 - 10 year period to see the benefits and covid has put that back at least 3 years. But at least the planes didn't fall out of the sky. A It's unrecognisable. I'm a minority in my own city. Crimes once unthinkable are taking place. Government dictating what you can and can not do (or think / say), is not the country I grew up in. It doesn't feel like home. So, if it's not my city, country, home, I have to ask myself what it is. B. Me too. 7 times I've been made redundant C. At best D Some public sector workers may get them, but I'd say most will be out of luck. Stagflation E. Everyone's personal inflation rate is different. But by and large, if you're not getting over 20% in interest, I'd say you were losing money. F. Much like covid, it's the reaction to it which fcuked us up. I understand they won't buy oil off Russia, but happily buy it of nations who bought it off Russia, at a premium. Lunatics. G. There is no meaningful difference between the establishment parties. They represent two wings of a “uniparty” who differ only in the speed at which they wish to accelerate (what they call) progressivism. There are no meaningful distinctions among the parties, the civil service, the legal apparatus, corporations, NGOs, the media, academia, or captured churches – these represent eight tentacles of the same monstrous vampire squid. If you want to know what any of these believe in, go to the WEF website. You'll see they are all on the same page, because they have the same masters. H. No we didn't 'crash' or 'fall off a cliff' Sadly, it's not over, we didn't leave properly, and could easily get sucked back in. Forget any benefit. Last I heard the government did £400,000,000,000 on covid (and that's probably bollocks). I don't know if this includes taxes they would have got, or just furlough payments. I don't know if it includes government backed loans which won't be repaid. In any event, settling the bill will take generations. Or a 'Great Reset'
