there was a redirect involving a company 'viglink' that insert product placement links into text on web pages, possibly that was as nefarious as it got but considering the surreptitious nature of the post and likely intent, why take chances?
We've had a few 'student' types now claiming to be after survey answers, more than I'd expect for what is a fairly obscure football forum on the internet that seemingly keeps being found by non blues football fans. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...

I have just discovered my pc is infected with this viglink which is acting as a gobetween my searches/web addresses and the site I'm visiting. I can't be sure if it got infected here or elsewhere but for your security

OK if you've seen the attention all thread on the blues forum then you'll likely be aware that this viglink is on proboards all the time and so likely nothing to do wth the alleged student who started this thread (and was removed from the site) but I remain suspicious of the posters intentions for other reasons already given. We're not that easy to find yet several presumably non blues student fans have found us to request these surveys, I can recall one on sha in the last half a dozen years or so, it just doesn't smell right imo so better safe than sorry.
