Welcome to our 9th annual final placings prediction thread. There is only one rule change further down to do with tied scores. As per feel free to post comments anywhere but after a few days I'll remove all posts that aren't an actual prediction, it's just too big a pain in the arse to scroll down to find them then move onto pages 3,4,5 etc, don't take it personally. Same rules as always, you score a point for every place out you are for individual team predictions, so if you predict Blues to finish 1st and they finish 5th you'll score 4 points and the winner will be the poster with the LOWEST points total (the nearest to predicted finishing positions collectively) at the end of the season. The thread will be LOCKED at 2pm on Sunday 3rd September the day after we play Millwall, NO EXCEPTIONS, until then you are free to change an already posted prediction. IMPORTANT If any team are deducted points any finishing position WILL NOT take that points deduction into account, so if results have someone finishing 14th but a points deduction means they're placed 22nd, for the purposes of this competition the deduction won't apply and they wil be counted as finishing 14th still. IN THE EVENT OF SEASON NOT BEING FINISHED DUE TO COVID OR ANYTHING ELSE If less than 34 matchdays have been played by the majority of clubs the season will be void. If 34 or more matchdays have been played by the majority of clubs the remaining fixtures will be decided on a simple points per game formula. TIED SCORES Throughout the season equal scores will get equal placing, but come the end of the season equal scores will be seperated with the higher placing going firstly the poster with the most teams in their exact position and if still tied the poster who is nearest on blues finishing position. If they are still tied then the poster who correctly guessed the most number of teams in the top two and bottom three, this is the only rule change. Two favours to ask can you number your predictions, it makes it a lot easier for me when totalling up the scores, to save you doing it you can even copy and paste the below and fill in the blanks. Also can you check that you have entered a prediction for every championship team, most seasons one or two posters accidentally miss a team out and double enter another team, if I notice I'll inform the poster but if I don't before the cut off it will be deemed an invalid entry. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24.

The rules above remain mostly unchanged every year but if you're unfamliar please read.
One rule not listed above is that NO ALTERATIONS are permitted to your predictions once the thread is locked after the transfer window for obvious reasons. I ALWAYS make a copy of all entries when the thread is locked and any alterations to your predictions are also time and date stamped at the bottom of your post.
Finally history shows that in the main, posters who make their predictions several weeks before the window closes tend to perform less well than those that wait untl the last week but the choice is yours and alterations are permitted right up until the thread is locked.

There are 9 wins listed due to tilts and cyberman being joint winners one year.
Also one interesting fact, aside from mm's second win, there has been a new winner in every other season, again taking into account cyberman's joint win. So newbies and those who haven't won before you have history on your side.

Really wanted to be different and not have Leicester top, it's really not a perfect squad, no leftback, left wingback or left midfielder but just think that defence will win them top spot. My blues prediction is based upon us signing a decent striker in January and JE making us better than a low block side or being replaced by someone that will.

I said last year that Carrick was like a new broom that lasted longer than expected. It was mostly due to Akpom and Archer both are not there now and the striker from Atalanta for £5m was a rip off, he has hardly any senior experience except for playing in Swiss league. He had a few previous loans and barely got a game. I'd be shocked if he starts scoring at this level. They haven't done much else in the forward area. Carrick is my tip for an early sacking, but not ahead of Sheff Wed or Watford as they are very much likely to sack a few each this season so they don't count I like Ipswich a lot, if they keep hold of their manager they'll do well. They could go straight through. Also think Hull done really well, their spending smacks of if we don't go up it's financial obliviion. It's a bit like defaults on loans and cards there's no point having one you may as well go for broke. I like Plymouth but I feel their manager could be on the radar for Everton when Dyche gets the bullet, boyhood Evertonian gaining loads of respect for what he's done and their next appointment will potentially need to have a record outside the Premier. Also think Plymouth could win plenty at home but not away. I still worry I have done Albion a bad turn because that manager loves turd polishing. Maybe let others say why they did what they did then move all the comments to a MY EXCUSES THREAD so we can review end of season

Too late now but should have created a thread for all removed comments, I'll definitely do that next year. Don't like removing them but a P.I.T.A trying to tot scores up scrollng past them all so wl definitely create a companion thread next year. Once all predictions aare in don't mind the omments on here as per, as it doesn't interfere with the prdeictions blok of posts.

Also remember 20 point swings between any two posters in one week is not uncommon and posters have gone from almost top to bottom an vice versa from first update to final scores before, long way to go.
