Bitten my lip over the appointment of GR, another almighty cock up by our football throwing American owners
GR has a hugh axe to grind with this club and gets welcome back as a saviour to the club that sacked him......
Well done Gary Rowett !!! you get to steer the club in the direction of your choice and that's relegation
You couldn't make this shit up, somebody phone Netflicks !!!

After 62 minutes we were actually winning a game (for once). EVERYBODY knows that you are most vulnerable just after you've scored so to give them an equaliser just 2 mins later was so unprofessional - nothing GR could do about that......that was purely the players fault.

I think that the answer to the question in the thread title is “ because leaving Venus in charge would have meant certain relegation “. TM is on board with the decision and Rowetts experience in this division gives us a fighting chance. We’re not down yet and have 4 home games to gather some points to go with the ones we must get against Rotherham and Huddersfield. We can still do this but only if we stick together, get behind the players while we can still survive and live up to our bloody anthem!
Cheers and KRO!

So ya giving him one game?
And if you think he’s here just to tank this season out of some strange revenge then it’s clear you have just decided this is a thing and it’s pointless debating it.

I have been a bluenose for about 45 years and have certainly seen some decent times , and to be fair more bad ones. As everyone knows this is part and parcel of the being a football fan. I understand people’s frustration with the current situation , but to totally diss GR after one game I just don’t get. He has been brought in to steady a very dodgy 2023/2024 ship so let’s get behind him and the team while we still have the chance of turning the corner.

I said when it was announced that if he doesn't get off to a solid start we could see another Rooney type reaction from a section of our 'fans' that will quickly spread.

Squad is rotten to the core. You could put prime Alex Ferguson in charge of this lot and he’d struggle.

Wish they were all like you, there's apparently fans on twatter having a go at Sanderson, I'm not his biggest fan but how is that supposed to help?
I've been hearing/reading fans saying for at least 3 seasons how they hate these players and they're the least likeable etc even though there's been a large turnover of players, in the end it comes across as more to do with the folk saying this kind of stuff than the actual players, fans aint what they used to be imho, not just at blues either, people really are different these days.

He might be thinking "I like Blues, but I wish I didn't only get the call, when the shit's hit the fan"

Could not agree more. It’s an instant, on demand, delivered to your door in one hour world. No need for patience, consideration and general good manners these days. The old-fashioned hooligans had a better way of behaving than most folk these days. “Excuse me kind sir, would you kindly hold my beer whilst I thwack you in face? Thanks ever so much” 😃

Well done Gary Rowett !!! you get to steer the club in the direction of your choice and that's relegation You couldn't make this shit up, somebody phone Netflicks !!! Dirty I can see the pain in your post after another gutting defeat in the dying minutes against fellow strugglers. I don't think for one moment that any of the disaster this season has become was intended by anyone and whatever happens the post mortem when the season ends will be long and painful. They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Mistakes have been made and the efforts to remedy them have not been effective to date. Appointing Rowett was necessary as it was clear under Venus we were going down without a fight. If he proves to be another failed solution remains to be seen but we lost yesterday to a worldie shot and will have to just suck it up. I don't buy that this is a vanity project for Rowett to get his revenge for being sacked. He will be well paid to keep us up and do his CV no harm in the process having done so. If he fails there will be few critics as we were in a mess when he arrived. Painful as it will be, if we go down, and we are not down yet, we can have little complaint. We have not been good enough and the legacy of which rests with the previous owners and the decisions taken by them over a number of years. Given the situation we were in I think Rowett was a sensible choice to try and dodge the relegation bullet. We have four home games and a trip to Rotherham and Huddersfield to save ourselves. We are not down yet. KRO.

Fully agree that Venus couldn't carry on but hiring an ex with a grievance against Blues....... plus we salute Mowbray's choice of manager

Lets look at this differently --- It may have crossed GR's mind that it is a possibility that uncle Tone may not come back depending upon how he feels when fully recovered. Therefore it is in his interest to keep the side up and then hopefully remain in situ as a steadying influence until some glamour manager becomes available. This is unlikely to happen in the championship so if GR has a foot in the door he could possibly stay until the premiership or until Cook can persuade Pep Guardiola that its time to join the big boys !

I also don’t sign up to the vendetta theory
Managers know they will get sacked, but they know it’s part of the industry they are in
Like Eustace he was paid off and came away with a glowing reputation

Eustace was not my cup of tea.
I would have gladly stuck him out for this season and felt quite confident we could stay up with him in charge without this drama.
Like it or not Eustace proved himself capable of keeping a team up with no backing and the 18 points suggested 50 points was an easy ask this season.
If anything his stock is well up given what has happened since he left. He's the only one to get a tune out of Dembele as well. Right now with our pathetic goal tally that kind of player played right could increase this teams chance of scoring!

I wasn't actually referring to Eustace. I was referring to Rowett.
But for what it's worth. I like the owners wanted Eustace out. I think like all our other managers, he would have struggled across the season with this squad. Not just ability but an unbalanced squad together with issues regarding contracts and loans coming to an end.
Mr Cook then made a mistake with appointing Rooney that nobody wanted. IMO Rooney was a dead man walking the day he walked into the job. His treatment by a section of so called fans from day one was disgraceful.
Even though I didn't agree with the Mowbray appointment, I don't think it was a poor appointment but has turned out to be unlucky so I don't blame Mr Cook for that. Putting Venus in charge seemed at the time the right thing to do. Who made that decision is anyone's guess.
Rowett. Not for me, but I wish him all the luck in the world at the moment.

I'm sure there's elements of truth in this, certainly from GR's side. Whilst I personally really want Mowbray back imo there has to be a bigger element of doubt now given the decission taken for him to take the rest of the seson off after it was said he was only expected to be away for 6-8 weeks.

I think this too, I also think that the job being made permanent for GR if TM is unfortunately unable to return may even have been broached officially- if only to act as another incentive to succeed.
Cheers and kro

Personally I don't really want him long term, but could swallow it for a while if Mowbray can't come back AND Rowett keeps us up.
However if he takes us down then 100% no way I want him here watching his boring brand of football and with his never having won promotion why suffer that when we should be able to play better stuff in preparation for coming up a la Ipswich? No, not in to rewarding failure and being bored into the bargain.
