Like everyone else today of a Royal Blue persuasion I've been excited by today's news regarding the new stadium and sport's complex.
Be interesting to see the owner's plans on access to the new development from the City Centre for all these events, including Blues games.
Garrison Street looks ripe for a redevelopment, as does Adderley Park station.
They need to get people in and out easily, with access to the mainline stations and motorways. Plenty of hotels, bars and restaurants with a business plan to make them viable.
Going to be an interesting few years!!
We KRO.

Idea on another site (construction).
Why not keep the proposed Metro route to/past St Andrews but add a spur off it to run across to the Wheels site? On match days and events, extra trams could be added to run solely from Digbeth or the main city centre line which will get people in and out quite quickly.
For pedestrian access, what about a footbridge over the top of the Ring Road leading to/from Millenium point? You could either get off at the HS2 station and walk down (keeping tradition) or simply stay on and use the 'Matchday Metro' route? Either way, both are safe for fans of football, music, or other sporting ventures that we'll be offering.
Edit - ps....I'm claiming the Matchday Metro name 😉😄😄

St Andrews site will go. There was a time years ago the metro was planned to go down Small Heath highway but that got edited to a bus lane which I use a lot. The metro in digbeth I really don't get. It doesn't go passed the rainbow so I don't quite understand why they didn't carry on to Bordesley Station. Then again I don't even know why they bother with that station. It's rarely open and trains rarely stop there and there's no real purpose to it other than linking to St Andrews then I guess it will maybe go passed the ground and head towards NEC via Stechford, Poolway etc as there is lots of room. The stretch of metro from the coach station to HS2 is not due for completion until 2027 so why do the metro down digbeth when it won't be active for years, perhaps not even until 2029!! That's our council people, they're bloody idiots. The best part of the site is if you make Landor Street much wider cars from the car park can be on Lawley Middleway in minutes then on the motorway with ten minutes. Duddeston Station could easily have a quick one mile shuttle bus to it, Adderley Park is half a mile and I dare say they could move the station a bit closer to the ground. You then could have loads of buses waiting to take fans into the city. Ideally they could just use the same line then open a train station right outside the ground, that would be the best solution, as you could allow fans free travel on the train into new street which would take literally 2 minutes. I will probably have a mobility scooter by then so I won't give a fcuk I will just run you all over if you get in my way

I love how peaceful that spot is, but I hate how I can always see vile Park from there. I just want to sit in Eastside Park in peace, with a PROPER view

Regards the Metro. Working on the 2029 opening of the new stadium, it gives the council 5 years to get a line there from the side of Moor Street to the stadium. Given the improvement and the money and the hundreds/thousands of jobs this is going to create, the council must come in and promote public transport. It’s a must, anyone can see that.

Garrison lane and Landor St are separated so 2 exits for north and south
