It doesn't seem to me that refs are adding all the time that VAR takes onto the injury time.
Its taken sometimes 1-2 minutes for a VAR answer, if it happens 2 3 times in game, thats an extra six minutes to add on not including injuries and subs etc.
Is there a ruling about the time taken with VAR.

Good question, suspect it's a can of worms they don't want to open, could have games regularly with 10 minutes+ added time.

I know there have been some controversial incidents but with VAR which is still experimental I feel that in the main it has been a success.
Yesterday was more about bad refereeing and a referee that was not strong enough to manage the game. He took ages viewing when in reality if he needs that long then surely he is making a decision whilst not being 100% sure of it which is essentially the rule...if in doubt don't give it. He took far too long viewing and as the panel said if he is taking too long then that in itself confirms the doubt.
This leads me onto why it's a success... Clearly if you count up all the VAR penalties that have been given that is a lot that would not have been given if VAR was not in force. We have no 0-0 draws which as well know the number could have been high considering how many have been prevented from being dull dour games. Add the offsides and so on and.
So far we have hit 20 which is the highest already in World Cup history and 28 matches still to play. As we all know the knockout phase is woeful in goals so this will help to open up these games.
It may need fine tuning yet but for me I would say even if it is 90% right it's still better than referees which are probably only about 60% right!
The only other spin we need to look at is that in the Premier League using the 1 in 2 ratio Kane could get 19 penalties in a season which could enhance goal records considerably and perhaps distort historical goal scoring records and make them not look as good. Ronaldo has about 500+ career goals which could be 750 if you re-run his career with VAR!
Definitely a lot to be looked at before we have the finished product.
