My life, would you find shorter articles ? It's quite possible I missed something, but I think the main bit was :
'But could the government at least get rid of its harsh deadline of applying for 'settled status' - the immigration category European citizens are being put in - by July 2021?'
Which I took to mean if you want to live here, apply before the end of June
All things considered, they don't seem to make a great deal of effort to boot out people who came here illegally, so I don't think they need to worry. I can't see people who couldn't be bothered to apply being rounded up and shipped out.
Unfortunately.

The “main bit” as you put it, is that Johnson, Gove and Patel lied. But then everyone was expecting that, weren’t they?

Christ on a penny farthing. I skipped over that. It's a given. I wouldn't try to post every time a politician tells fibs, you'd have no time to eat.

I don't thinks he's got the fibs market dominated, and I doubt many people were over concerned about EU citizen's rights. I'll give you a clue as a part example. Calling more half the voters thick is not a good election strategy.

Calling more half the voters thick is not a good election strategy. Well there you go then. Let’s hope none of them are relying on a Spanish nurse or a Danish doctor in the near future then. Mind you, some of them would probably prefer to lie in a corridor for 24 hours rather than be treated by a foreigner.

Absolutely. Because in the very unlikely event Spanish & Danish NHS staff are rounded up and shoved onto a boat, there's absolutely no way a British person could be enticed to do that job. Luckily, in this extremely unlikely event, there should be far less demand on the NHS.
Now I'm assuming Jeremy didn't give you a peak at that document he had in his pocket, which he said proved the NHS was history. He certainly doesn't want to show it to anyone else.
So you might as well wait until the next election before telling everyone to vote Labour or kiss the NHS goodbye, because for the next five years you're going to have to wait and see what happens.

I don't care what nationality doctor treats me , however if I'm going to have my pocket picked , I'd prefer it to be by a native Northfielder ....

Far less demand on the NHS? So it’s just the foreigners who get ill then? 😂 It’s another Tone Wind Up (a TWU as I’m going to call them from now on). TWU 2: “Wait and see what happens”! So there MIGHT be an NHS in 5 years, there might not. How comforting. Still, all those illness free pure bred white British OAPs and kids won’t need a health service, will they? And all the brown and black people will go back to where they came from when they discover they can’t ponce off the state any more. Of course, I’m only pointing all of this out for any innocents who come along and think you’re being serious. I know it’s all a bunch of TWUs myself. Anyway, I’m off to have a chat in French with the kids of some French woman my missus knows - today’s lesson is entitled “Comment acheter un billet aller-simple pur quitter le Royaume-Uni”.

And rather have home grown charlatans we can get shot of every few years, deciding how to best spend the money I earned, than far removed, and un-removable foreigners.

No you silly goose. There are far more foreigners who do get ill, have babies etc, than work for the NHS. Hell I know someone who got a job at the NHS as an interpreter. We won't need those. The only way the NHS will fold, is if it can't be paid for, and as Jeremy won't be let loose, we shouldn't have to worry about that. The NHS is one of the largest employers in the world. These workers have families. It's a massive voting block. No party will threaten it. I'm sure the French lady isn't worried. We're not a banana republic. She'll be fine here.

I work with 4 EU citizens across various countries of orgins all have settled status sorted in the last 6 months or so. They say that most of their friends and relatives have already done it too.
Right now the biggest problem is the polish government who are playing a face and it is thought they may insist that any of theirs that choose to remain in the UK will be told to give up ever going back or having any rights if they try to. The polish people I know believe this is a political gambit to get them to come home or at worst save their government substantial monies in the short and long term. Some of their conspiracies lead them to believe if any of them have paid into any public or private pension in poland they will be wiped from the record enabling government and private finance institutions to rip them off.
I have a very close friend from Hungary and she laughs when people moan about Boris and says he is by far less dodgy than the various people running the show in Hungary and she mocks any brits who moan about the raw deal. She says go live in Hungary for two years and you will find out what real shit government is like.

I've worked for Swedish companies for the last 5 years, there are EU citizens working in the UK for those companies, and I believe not one of them is the slightest bit concerned they are about to be frog marched onto a boat. I'm also of the opinion that EU citizens in this country will have as an absolute minimum, the same deal as UK citizens living in the EU. I expect (unfortunately) they EU citizens here will get better terms than their UK counterparts.

You have to remember that most the stories about settled status for people in the UK is driven by a political agenda from the remain camp. But in the real world speaking to EU citizens I am yet to hear or see anything of it. End of the day there is just as much incentive for the UK to have a good deal for expats and current folk looking to get settled status. Those that fail to remain where they are will probably end up that way due their own ability to follow the steps provided. The only ones in my opinion that may struggle is those that have only recently entered whatever country they currently occupy. In my experience the story of people not getting settled status will fall in the 'Nothing to see here folks"

And the last thing you want is to be seen by a Spanish Doctor, believe me. I’ve seen it.

And the last thing you want is to be seen by a Spanish Doctor, believe me. I’ve seen it. I have been. Waited for about 6 hours with a really painful ear infection. He gives me a prescription which made no difference whatsoever, and I was miserable for the rest of the holiday. Got back home, saw a doctor, who gave me something which cleared it up straight away. In my naivety, I expected the government to contact me about the bill the Spanish were going to send them, to get me to confirm that they had actually done all they were billing our government for. I was going to recommend they didn't pay it. Turns out, they just send a bill in for whatever they want, and our government blindly pays it. Later I'm reading that when the UK sends bills of their own, they are largely ignored.

I'm going to assume you mean are the UK bills ignored, as opposed to am I making it up. I couldn't say. I believed it at the time. I could be asking the wrong question, but after a quick look all I can find is loads, and loads of items like this news.sky.com/story/nhs-scandal-as-uk-pays-millions-to-eu-10189381Which are basically all saying we're well out of pocket because our useless government can't be arsed to send the bills in, in the first place.
