So any announcement on the politics section. Is this a thing of the past ? Closed for the time being. No politics or religion, which is how we operated for years. I know there are those who will be delighted.

I know there are those who will be delighted. Right now, yes. I think they'd have preferred to keep it if people agreed with them. Personally I think it will be detrimental to growing the forum, but I'm sure you know best. I'd prefer it closed to "I don't care how perfectly true it is, it's not in the public interest to say so."

Not worth the worry. I doubt that it will be missed.

The funniest thing is it was the posters who wanted to discuss politics who did the most to close the politics section.

Who was that ? I assumed expatjohn closed it. I don't know what that means, but I suspect you mean me, for one (?) So, it's closed down to some people not liking my opinions ? Wasn't closed due to some people instead of not reading certain subjects, or responding to them, or if they didn't like the politics section anymore, keeping off it altogether; demanding that it be closed ? Interesting take if so.

What's happened to the politics board is a prime example of how the minority control the masses of free speech and by doing so lock it away and let it simmer slowly bubbling away and people wonder in surprise why certain political beliefs are gaining a momentum across Europe and the world.

Oh well. The decision has been made. The thought police have had their way, and the SJWs can still squawk their outrage in the SHA safe space if they wish. It's still far better than approved politics only.

Romey, is it to difficult to understand that this is a Blues forum? Free speech doesn't enter into it.
Now, once and for all, let it rest. I had it in mind to resurrect the politics section at specific times of interest. You aren't helping that possibility!

I think he means you're not the soup dragon. Oh that's a shame. I was hoping that my input had resulted in the removal of the politics forum. So who, according to you, is the Soup Dragon?

The person who was able to get it passed. I can guarantee to you that my input was directly responsible for the removal of the politics. You have made it clear that you think this is because I don't want political discussion of stuff I disagree with, and yet you have conveniently ignored the fact that I have criticised Cassie for making anti-Brexit political comments. My stance is 100% no politics on here - right, left, centrist or whatever. Now perhaps you will give it up, eh?

My stance is 100% no politics on here - right, left, centrist or whatever. Now perhaps you will give it up, eh? Pretty much gave it up at the time. I still think your want Wetherspoons to go t!ts up was because of the owner's staunch & outspoken support of the thing we're not supposed to mention. I'm also of the opinion that you miss the politics section far more than I do, which is why you made the thread. Got to say though, whilst I'm not privy to the powers that be here's discussions, I did not envisage when one of them, (or yourself it seems), suggested knocking the politics section on the head, they thought they'd better go with what you thought. I imagined one or more of them may have referred to your opinion, but I imagined that if they were all happy with the situation, then it would have continued. Shows what I know. In the same vein, thank you for not being directly responsible for getting me banned. Not that I'd give a fuc4

It was quite easy - people simply don't want to discuss politics on here.
It's really not a secret - if you're daft enough to go on any political website - left, right or centrist - and start talking football, see how far you get.

Says a very enthusiastic contributor to the politics section. A guy who presumably by that comment knows what all people want. Fuc4ing hell, if that was the case why close it ? No fuc4er would post on it. I stand by my view that you were well in favour until 'people' didn't agree with you. My view is, if it was re-opened, and 'people' were given the scoobers treatment, you'd be contributing with the same enthusiasm as you previously had. And I very much doubt that's a secret.
