We need bodies in midfield too. We’ve had runners running at our back 4 several times. They hit the post from one of those breaks.

Laird is playing as the inverted full back, like many do nowadays. Still very early days but that gives some indication of we’ll build up play.

Didn't really create anything. Keshi Anderson, Khela, Mazwi and Fogarty have been out best players. The German side looks like a solid outfit and took their goals well. Apart from the goals and when they hit the post our keeper hasn't been troubled at all. A different 11 is gonna be out for the second half.

Not good. A few bright moments from Hansson and I thought Allsops passing was very good. Defending was awful. Gonna get caught on the counter playing this system. A lot of kids playing in that side so cannot really read too much into the result. It is primarily about gaining fitness at the moment. Paderborn are no pushovers and have played 5 friendlies winning 4 and drawing 1.

Should we be worried about this result? no. Never ever worry about pre season results. Nope. I saw Blues win 2 friendlies by a combined score of 19-0, one of them away. We did have the likes of Worthington, Gallagher and Gemmill though. |

The game was awful, some very very poor defending against a far superior team than us.
But we played quite a few kids, changed the complete side at half time and yes the best in both half's would have done better as a single stronger unit. The game after all was a training event and a chance for a few to express themselves and get some match fitness.
I thought Hanson looked good. I can’t think of anyone else who deserves a mention.
We move on and hope for more signings as it’s blatantly obvious that we need more quality.

Why no Bielik or Dembele today? And why was Roberts not with the Austria tour? Surely he can't be unfit as he's been training earlier than the rest of the squad.
