Good luck to the biggest team in the area for today's season opener against Derbyshire.
Hopefully the start of another successful season for the mighty Bears.

It never fails to amuse me how Blues fans criticise the arrogance of Viler fans for there feelings of superiority over others yet behave exactly the same over Warwickshire.

Will obviously sussed the blatant wind up. It wasn’t difficult - Brummie1875 is like an angler who turns up at the canalside at Hopwood dressed in flourescent pink and yellow stripes with a large boom box turned up to 11 and then he starts throwing firecrackers around. The fish promptly head for Tardebigge, especially when his mate EPJ rolls up dressed as a circus clown, constantly blowing an old-fashioned car horn. Pity, I had a firecracker with your name on.

New Road is possibly the most beautiful County ground. And the wettest.. Locally known as the boating lake. Located next to a beautiful river, rivers do sometimes break their banks overlooked by one of the Country’s finest Cathedrals. It was a great City to Live in! Edgbaston always feels as though it’s lost it’s soul. Cold and unwelcoming.

But for routine county cricket in front of three (old) men and a dog ....

Some very strange and humourous characters could be found in there.

The old days were great. A lot of the stewards drank in the Selly Park Tavern,so come test match day, you'd bung em a fiver to get you in. 9 times out of 10,you had to watch it from the members bar. When that all changed,if say,8 of you was going to the test match, you'd buy 4 tickets, then 4 would go in while the rest of you went to the pub and then one of you would take the others tickets to the pub for the rest to get in.

Back in the old days, kids like me would carry the player's kit into the changing room. We would get some autographs at the same time.
These days it be banned under health & safety, and safeguarding regulations.
